Joe Pan’s debut literary crime novel, FLORIDA PALMS, was published in July 2025 by Simon & Schuster and optioned for a TV series by HBO. A New York Times Book Review Editors’ Choice pick, the slow-burn thriller was praised as “A must read” in a starred Library Journal review and hailed as “A musky, Florida-specific stew of sweat, blood, swamp gas, and amphetamine addiction” in The New York Times Book Review.
Author of five poetry collections, Joe Pan is also the founding publisher and editor-in-chief of Brooklyn Arts Press, a small press honored with a National Book Award win in Poetry, and publisher of Augury Books, honored with a Lambda Literary Award win in Lesbian Poetry. His own work has appeared in the Boston Review, Hyperallergic, the New York Times, and Poets & Writers, with profiles of him appearing in the Brooklyn Rail, CrimeReads, the New York Post, Publishers Weekly, and the Wall Street Journal.
With his wife he co-founded Brooklyn Artists Helping (BAH), which serves unhoused populations with goods. He lives in Hollywood, California.
